For many adventurers, the call of the wilderness is simply hard to resist. No experience ever matches the exhilaration of trekking up rocky mountain trails, navigating rapid streams, having coffee by the edge of a cliff, sleeping under the starry night sky or reeling above deep sea wrecks whilst watching the sun set in the vast, open sea. Despite the sense of freedom the backwoods offer, however, every veteran explorer knows there are drawbacks to keep in mind.
